Rusk/Palestine SP, Rusk, TX - Mar 23-24
This is a 100-acre park around the Rusk terminal of the Texas State Railroad Historic site, which has 50-mile rides on steam-powered trains between Palestine & Rusk. While the park is usually full on weekends when train rides are offered, it was almost empty during our stay. We enjoyed the relative solitude, and didn't even bother unhooking the truck. The dogwoods & redbuds were at their peak, and there was asmall lake in the park.# posted by Doug and Willie @ 5:11 PM
